“WOULD YOU WANT TO BE THIS TEENAGER?”

I have recently read a spiritual blog dealing with teenage pregnancies. This blog talks about how to deal and gave some tips to parents and teens dealing with this situation. I would like to give my opinion on the matter.

I am a 16 year old girl. I have experienced teenagers who are close to me and teenagers who are just ‘friends of friends’ get pregnant. I have also been exposed to TV shows where a teenage girl gets pregnant and it changes her life forever. Finding out that one of my close friends is pregnant and still in high school was one of the most shocking things I have heard. I did not know what to say at first. Then all I could think to say was everything is going to be okay and it will all work out. She was destroyed and the worst part is she began to hate herself which became almost to unhealthy. Some parents would disown their child but her parents luckily helped her to figure the situation out. Witnessing this made me step back and from then on almost always think before I act.

Pro-Life or Pro-choice? I am torn because I do believe that every human should being able to make the decision they feel is best for them. But on the other hand I hate the thought of killing a soon to be, beautiful new born baby.

At the end of the day the best tip I can think of to give to a fellow teen is of course be safe but also, even though its hard to do in a spur of the moment situation, try to STOP and think of the conciquences your actions may bring to you. To parents If you find out your “baby girl” is pregnant I understand it is probably the most shocking and terrifying news to ever hear, but your teen never meant for it to happen and is devastated as well. Everyone makes mistakes. Just try and make the best of the situation.

What do I wear? Who should I go with? So many questions going threw the teenage mind for only one night. Homecoming and Spirit week is one of the most exciting times in my high school. During Spirit week each day has a theme! Some theme’s can be Blue and white day so all we can where is blue and white. One day is called pajama day and everyone gets to wear their pajamas to school! this is so exciting since we have to wear uniforms every day :( The excitement of Spirit week and the pep rallies that go with it get everyone pumped for the big game the friday before the dance!

Yes, spirit week is a lot of fun but the girls really are thinking about what kind of dress they are going to wear! So many different choices to choose from…

Teenage Life

I am a Teenage girl who’s high school years have just started. There will be many experiences for the next few years that I will most likely never forget. Teenagers go threw or witness several events and look at each in many different perspectives. Sometimes it is an event in your own life like an argument or something that happened on the latest VMAs. A perfect example is… When Kanye West called out Taylor Swift (who is a year older then me) at the 2009 VMAs I immediately got angry at Kanye. That made me so angry because if that happened to me I would have been devastated. Also since we are so close in age it really got to me. Even a Taylor Swifts “teenage life” gets complexed.

Many people disagree with me when I say Kanye was wrong. Yes he is a very good singer and he may have been drunk but that is no excuse. For those who think it was about time for some to say this, imagine standing in front of millions of people and not exactly fitting in with the group your with, then getting called out. Not an ideal way to win your fist VMA.
